  • Condition: Very old, no cracks or wood separation. Nicely aged wood. Guitar sounded fine, but old strings needed to be removed.

    The history of this guitar is unknown. The L_4388 serial number format indicates it is a Silvertone model. Perhaps from '40s/50s.
    The guitar sounded fine prior to removing very old strings. I figure the next owner may be particular about which strings to install. I will include a pack of unopened classical strings; I will accept a return if there is any type of string buzz that can't be fixed.
    No cracks or splits in the wood, and the seams are solid. Unsure what types of wood used. The top is likely spruce or cedar. No deep scratches, this guitar has survived quite well!
    There are two decorative metal motifs securing the saddle in place. That may give a clue to its age.
    The tap plates appear to be bakelite material; they are screwed into the wood.
