Original WW2  Imperial Japanese Navy IJN Heavy Canvas Ship Deck Awning. Nice Label
Canvas Ship Awning Cover.
Elaborately constructed heavy thick canvas with sewn fabric grommets at edges. Sewn filled in white Naval label in center. Large kanji letters in black on the front center. Sasebo Naval Arsenal marked. Early war late 1930s. Used but good condition. It is roughly square about 32" by 33" and weights about 2 lbs 3 oz. Rarely seen these elevated and tied together with ropes could make a cover for the deck of a ship shielding it from the elements. Some small holes noticeable when held up to strong light some looking like small nail holes.
This item is from my personal collection of many years. Now retired I have been selling a large collection of Imperial Japanese Army and Navy items including aviation and officer items. Other items will be listed over the coming weeks
