    Russian Hunting/Fishing/Bushcraft Knife, Camping "Походный" Hand-hammered 9XC steel
    This is a hand-made hunting/fishing knife from central Russia.  The forge is called "Medved" (it means Bear in Russian).  The steel is unusual - it's 9XC, but hand-hammered yielding an intentionally very rough and uneven surface, giving the blade a primitive appearance on the unsharpened portion.
    Hand-made knives today are usually machine-hammered, but this one is not - it's entirely hand-hammered (using a hand-swung hammer on an anvil), with no machinery of any kind used during the forging process. And of course as you'd expect with Medved, the edge is highly polished and also very sharp.
