    Description

You're bidding on a 1000 Stitch belt bag. To wish soldiers going off to war, the women of a village or town would create a 1000 stitch belt for a departing soldier to bring good luck and keep the soldier safe. Each woman and girl in the village would make a stitch on the belt. This bag would have been used to carry the 1000 stitch belt, red thread and needle as it was delivered to each home to get stitches made. A truly unique Japanese war item. Size approximately 12.5" x .5". See photos of exact bag you are buying. Has age staining and spotting.
