    Description

    WWII Japanese Army Type 94 pattern canteen in very nice shape for the age. Canteen body has around 98% paint, is marked for the (nsa) company and is date stamped for SHOWA 17, (1942). While the white Government inspection stamps shows that the canteen was accepted into service in 1943, and bears SHOWA date 18 (1943). So this canteen was most likely produced at the very end of 1942, and not Gov. inspected till early 1943. The harness has faded ink stamps. Leather strap is in good shape as is the cork stopper. The stopper strap metal buckles still show some of their red/brown paint. The canteen body has painted kanji and the front of the harness is named, but I have no translation for either. Overall a very nice clean mid war canteen!
